Roald Dahl's books were my favorite as a kid. I was a junior in HS when Sorcerer's Stone was published and missed the hubbub of the first few because I was reading play anthologies all through college. To this day I've never read a single Potter book.
Wow, we all would have been book friends growing up - I read so many of the same authors. I'm curious to see how that Mediators TV show turns out (or maybe I don't want to know?) Also, Victoria, I'm pretty sure the Boston Massacre book you're talking about is The Fifth of March by Ann Rinaldi https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/143148.The_Fifth_of_March
oh my god it is!!!!! you're the best!!!! I am also worried about the Mediator adaptation — should have hired me!!! But I'm sure I will watch it and have important opinions about if Jesse is hot enough.
Royal Diaries!!! Cleopatra was my absolute favorite!
